Can you feel it?  Can you smell it?  Fall is in the air!  This is a perfect time to grab a cup of hot apple cider and find a cozy spot to read a great book!

I always love this time of year!  Nightfall comes a little earlier and can make me a bit sad.   I know, however, that more indoor time does mean that I can fit in more reading!

This is the time of year, that I get the boxes of Halloween, Fall, and Thanksgiving books out of storage.  The students love them and I do too!

While we did get many of the books sent home over the lock-down back, there are a number of them still out.  I have been sharing with students who owe me books, to search at home.  I will be emailing parents, over the next week or two.  If you get an email from me, please take a look around your home, vehicle, etc. for them!  I'm not so much worried about when they get back, just that they do!!!!

Enjoy the cooler weather, stay safe, and enjoy a great book!

Welcome back to another school year!

Even though a few things will be different, the library is still here for you!  I plan to ensure great books are available to our wonderful students, even if the way I have to go about doing so, is a little different!

I will be sharing slides throughout the year that will contain recorded books and fun information.  Check back frequently, to see if there is a new title you might enjoy!  There will be picture books, chapter books, both fiction and nonfiction!

The first link I am sharing is an assortment of Back to School titles, to help get you excited for a new school year!

Just click on the link below, and then select go to this link, to get there!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today’s featured site is “Storyline Online”!  It is a free site where kids can watch videos of authors reading books!  Many are read by favorite actors.  You simply choose a book to play, using YouTube or other video players available, to play it.

I chose A Bad Case of Stripes by David Shannon.  It was narrated by actor Sean Astin, from the Lord of the Rings movies!  I enjoyed it very much!

I hope you are staying healthy and happy, enjoy!

I hope all of you are carving out a little time to read something for fun!

Here is a fun site to explore.

storynory.com

It is geared towards K through 5th grade.  It is free and contains more than 600 audio stories.  Literary styles of writing include; fairy tales, myths, educational stories, poems, world stories, and classic authors.  Students can read AS they read along with the storytellers!  The stories can also be heard, via podcast.  The content is free, but full disclosure, there are ads.  The site comes from the UK, so the accents are lots of fun to listen to!  I brief intro is given before the classic stories, explaining the timeline in history, it was written.

I pray daily for everyone’s health and I miss you all!  My 11 month old puppy Jax says hello!

I hope all of you are staying safe and healthy.  As many of you have already noticed, I allowed students who wanted to, to check out up to four books each.  I wanted them to have reading material at home.  Some students may have limited home libraries, or have read everything already!!!!

The library has been scrubbed and disinfected, it will be ready and waiting for your students to return.
